Positive Guidance

Clubhouse For Kids discipline approach can be summed up into one word “positive”. Children learn best through positive experiences. The center is concerned with the child’s emotional, mental, and physical well-being. The center’s policies are designed to help children develop self-control, self-esteem, problem solving and respect for others.

Children thrive in an environment of being valued and loved, therefore our teachers use praise and positive reinforcement in order to help children feel they are of value and self-worth. Weekly lesson plans include daily activities to enhance cooperative play and respect for others. Teachers facilitate the development of self-control in children by using positive guidance techniques such as modeling and encouraging expected behavior, redirecting children to a more acceptable activity, and setting clear limits. Teacher expectation’s match and respects children developing capabilities. The center does follow and use the 1-2-3 Magic approach

Nutritional Policy & Weekly Menu

Clubhouse For Kids provides nutritious, balanced meals and snacks that meet the nutritional requirements of the food program and state licensing rules. The center will provide snacks and lunch to all children present at the time of preparation, including school-age children. Menus include a wide range of food types and reflect a variety of cultures and ethnic diversity. Meals are prepared on site in our fully equipped kitchen.

Children 12 months to 2 years of age will be given whole milk at lunch and children 2 years and older will be given 1% milk at lunch.  100% apple juice is served for both morning and afternoon snack.  If you would prefer your child not have the juice, you can opt out by bringing in a written note indicated that you would like them to have water in place of the 100% fruit juice.

Infants under 6 months must be served formula or breast milk. Parents supply formula and baby food until the child is old enough to be on table foods.

If a child has a special diet, parents will provide a substitute food when necessary (allergies, religious or cultural dietary restrictions, etc).

In order to protect the health of other children and persons, children that are ill should not be brought to the center. If your child becomes ill while at the center, he or she will be kept isolated in order to reduce the risk of illness to others until a parent or emergency contact person has been notified. Ill children must be picked up within the hour. Children may return after 48 hours only if they are symptom free and pain reliever free. If your child is well enough to come to the center, he or she will be expected to participate in all activities including outdoor play.  To keep the exposure of Covid-19 to a minimum we will be doing drop-off at the front door and will be taking temperature checks at the door upon entry.  If anyone has a 100.4 degree F temp or higher they will not be allowed to enter the center.
